Garage Door Parts Store in Portland — Open to the Public

We’re the only garage door parts store in the Portland area that sells directly to homeowners and DIYers — including torsion springs and winding bars.

Try finding torsion springs locally. Home Depot doesn’t carry them. Lowe’s doesn’t carry them. Nobody sells them to the public because they’re considered professional-only parts. We do — and we don’t just hand you a box. We measure your broken spring, match the exact replacement, and walk you through the steps so you know what you’re doing before you leave the store.

Walk in, bring your broken part, and walk out with the right replacement. No guessing, no wrong orders, no waiting for shipping.

D&L Garage Doors & Locksmith 6701 SE Foster Rd, Suite #D, Portland, OR 97206 📍 We’re in the back of the building — drive around to the rear lot.

What We Stock

Everything you need to repair a garage door — parts that no big box store carries.

Torsion Springs — Stock springs starting at $129. All our springs are US-made — not the cheap imports from China you’ll find on Amazon and eBay. Chinese springs are made from lower-grade steel and don’t withstand the same cycle count. If your spring is a custom size, pricing depends on wire gauge, length, and inside diameter. Bring your broken spring in, and we’ll measure and match it on the spot. Custom springs available through our local supplier, usually same-day.

Winding Bars$45. You need these to install torsion springs safely. We sell professional-grade bars — not the cheap ones that bend under tension.

Rollers$3 to $8 per roller, depending on size and type. Steel and nylon options available.

Cables & Drums$15 to $95, depending on door height and cable thickness. We cut cables to your specific door size.

Bottom Seals & Retainers — Rubber seals and aluminum retainers for all common door sizes.

Vinyl Trim / Weatherstripping — Side and top weatherstripping to keep rain and drafts out.

Remotes & Keypads — LiftMaster and Linear remotes, wall consoles, and wireless keypads. Smart-home compatible units available.

Hardware — Hinges, brackets, bottom fixtures, struts, track sections, and torsion tubes. If it’s part of a garage door, we probably have it on the shelf.

How It Works When You Walk In

  1. Bring your broken part — or a photo with measurements. The more info you bring, the faster we match it.
  2. We measure and identify the exact replacement. For springs, we check wire gauge, inside diameter, length, and wind direction. Getting any of these wrong means the spring won’t work — or worse, it’s dangerous.
  3. We explain the installation. For springs, we walk you through the winding process, the safety precautions, and what to watch for. For other parts, we’ll tell you what you need to know to get it done right.
  4. You leave with the correct part, same day. No shipping, no guessing, no returns because you ordered the wrong size online.

Pro tip: If you’re replacing a torsion spring, bring both springs — even if only one broke. We can check whether the second one is close to failing so you don’t end up back here in a few months.

Why Buy From Us Instead of Online

You can’t buy torsion springs online and know you’re getting the right one. Springs are sized by wire gauge, inside diameter, overall length, and wind direction. A spring that’s off by even one gauge of wire won’t balance your door properly — and an undersized spring is a safety risk.

When you buy from us, we verify the specs against your broken spring. When you buy online, you’re guessing from a product listing and hoping it matches what you’re looking for. We see DIYers come in after ordering the wrong spring online at least a few times a month.

Other parts are easier to get wrong than you’d think. Rollers come in different stem lengths and diameters. Cables come in different thicknesses and lengths. Hinges are numbered by position on the door. The wrong hinge in the wrong position changes how the door tracks. We match everything to your specific door so you don’t make a second trip.

Quality matters too. Most springs sold online come from overseas. They’re cheaper for a reason. The steel is lower grade, which means fewer cycles before the spring fails again. Our springs are all US-made and made from higher-quality steel. You’re paying for a spring that lasts, not one you’ll have to replace in two years.
