garage door opener replacement in Tualatin, Oregon

LiftMaster Residential Garage Door Openers

We install the full LiftMaster residential lineup. Every model includes myQ smartphone control, a built-in camera, and Security+ 3.0 encryption — installed by our in-house technicians, not subcontractors.

LiftMaster is the most-installed professional-grade opener brand in North America, and it’s the brand we recommend to most Portland homeowners. We’ve been installing LiftMaster openers since 2010 and carry the current lineup on our trucks for same-day installation in most cases.

LiftMaster organizes residential openers into three tiers: Basic, Plus, and Premium. The right one depends on your budget, your noise tolerance, and whether you need battery backup for Portland’s winter power outages.

Basic Series — From $699 Installed

This is what we install most. The Basic Series covers everything most Portland homeowners need at the best price.

Models: 2220L (from $699, our most common install) · 2420L (from $799, adds battery backup)

The 2220L and 2420L give you a reliable DC motor, myQ smartphone control, and a built-in fixed camera — all standard. You can open, close, and monitor your garage from your phone, whether you’re at work or on vacation. These are significantly quieter than the AC motors LiftMaster used in their older basic models.

The only difference between the two is battery backup. The 2220L doesn’t have it — if the power goes out, you’ll need to use manual mode until it comes back. The 2420L adds battery backup for $100 more, keeping your door working during Portland’s winter power outages.

During our installations, we show every homeowner how to disconnect and reconnect the opener manually — it takes about 10 seconds once you know how.

5-year motor warranty covers the most important component.

Choose Basic if: you have a standard residential garage door, you want smartphone control, and you don’t want to pay for premium features. Pick the 2220L if you don’t need battery backup, or the 2420L if you want your door working during power outages at the lowest price.

Plus Series — From $849 Installed

The sweet spot if noise or power outages matter to you.

Model: 6580L

The 6580L adds three meaningful upgrades over the Basic Series: quieter operation, LED lighting, and an adjustable camera you can tilt and rotate through the myQ app. Battery backup is included as well.

Battery backup keeps your door working when Portland’s winter storms knock out the electricity. Instead of climbing over your car in a dark garage to pull the manual release, the door just works. For homeowners who use their garage as their primary entrance, this alone justifies the price difference.

The quieter motor matters if you have bedrooms above or next to the garage. The difference between the Basic and Plus drive systems is noticeable — not dramatic, but enough that early-morning departures won’t wake the house.

The jump from the 2420L Basic with battery backup to the 6580L Plus is only $50. For that, you get a quieter motor, an adjustable camera instead of a fixed one, LED lighting instead of a work light, and a 6-year warranty instead of 5. It’s the best value jump in the entire lineup.

6-year motor warranty.

Choose Plus if: you want battery backup during storm season, your garage shares a wall or ceiling with the living space, or you want the adjustable camera for better monitoring angles.

Premium Series — From $989 Installed

LiftMaster’s best. Lifetime warranty, quietest operation, extra remote, and keypad included.

Models: 6690L (ceiling-mount) · 98022 (wall-mount / jackshaft)

The Premium Series is built for homeowners who want the best available or have specific needs that other tiers can’t meet.

The 6690L is the ceiling-mount option — ultra-quiet operation, superior LED lighting, adjustable camera, battery backup, and an extra remote and keypad included. If noise is your top priority and your garage is near bedrooms or living space, this is the quietest ceiling-mount opener LiftMaster sells. The lifetime motor warranty means you’ll never pay to replace the most expensive component.

The 98022 is a wall-mount (jackshaft) opener that installs beside the door instead of on the ceiling. It’s the right choice when you need ceiling space for a car lift, overhead storage racks, or when your garage has low ceilings or obstructions that prevent a standard ceiling-mount installation. The 98022 is also the only residential opener that works with high-lift configurations. Learn more about wall-mount openers.

Lifetime motor warranty — the only tier that offers it.

Choose Premium if: You want the quietest operation available, the lifetime warranty, and the extra remote and keypad. Choose the 98022 specifically if you need ceiling clearance, a high-lift setup, or a wall-mount configuration.

Every Model Comes With These Features

myQ Smartphone Control — Open, close, and monitor your garage door from anywhere through the myQ app. Get real-time alerts when the door opens or closes. Set schedules. Check if you forgot to close it from across town.

Built-in Camera — All current LiftMaster models include a built-in camera. Basic Series has a fixed camera. Plus and Premium have adjustable cameras that you can reposition through the app.

Security+ 3.0 Encryption — Rolling-code technology changes the access code every time you use your remote. This prevents code grabbing, which is how older openers get hacked.

LED Lighting — Every model includes garage lighting. Basic has a work light. Plus has an LED. Premium features a superior LED that illuminates the entire garage.

What to Expect During Installation

Step 1 — We check the door first. Before recommending any opener, we make sure the door is balanced and all hardware is in good shape. An opener on an unbalanced door will fail early. If springs need adjusting or rollers need replacing, we’ll tell you before we start.

Step 2 — We recommend the right unit. Based on your door size, noise sensitivity, and budget, we suggest the best fit. We don’t push Premium when Basic will do the job.

Step 3 — Installed and tested the same day. Most installations take 1.5 to 2 hours. We program your remotes, set the travel limits, test the safety sensors, and walk you through the features before we leave.

Portland Metro Service Area

We install LiftMaster openers across Portland, SE Portland, Beaverton, Lake Oswego, Milwaukie, Happy Valley, West Linn, Oregon City, Gresham, Hillsboro, Wilsonville, and Vancouver, WA. We stock the current lineup on our trucks for same-day installation in most cases. No subcontractors — your opener is installed by one of our in-house technicians who does this every day.
