Common Roll-Up Door Problems We Fix

Broken springs — This is the #1 call we get. The door feels impossibly heavy or won’t stay up. Springs on roll-up truck doors take a beating — constant use, rough handling, and exposure to weather wear them down fast. We replace springs for TODCO, Whiting, and Transglobal doors.

Seized or damaged rollers — The door binds, jerks, or won’t track smoothly. On many truck doors, the rollers are riveted to the hinges — you can’t just pop them out. We drill out the old rivets and install new rollers and hardware. It takes time to do it right, but it’s the only way to fix it properly.

Bent or damaged panels — Loading dock hits, low clearance scrapes, cargo shifts — panels take abuse. We repair or replace individual panels when possible. If the door is too far gone, we install a new one.

Weather seals and insulation failure — Especially important on refrigerated trailers, where a broken seal means lost temperature control and potentially spoiled cargo.

Door won’t latch or lock — Latch mechanisms wear out or get damaged. We repair or replace locking hardware to keep your cargo secure.

New Door Installation

When a repair no longer makes sense — too much panel damage, the frame is bent, or the door has been forced so many times it’s beyond saving — we install new roll-up doors.

New door installation runs up to $4,000, depending on door size, brand, and whether you need standard, insulated, or refrigerated specs. We measure, order the right door, and install it at our shop. Turnaround depends on parts availability, but we keep common components in stock.
